| Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Revenue Accounting of this international, publicly held software company, you will share ownership for the revenue accounting function.
· Identify revenue recognition issues and ensuring revenue is being booked accurately and in accordance to SEC and GAAP guidelines.
· Work with Sales and Services to ensure deals comply with the accounting guidelines.
· Provide support for helping the international finance team deal with specific revenue recognition questions.
· Interpret software contracts and liaise with sales and legal groups.
· Work with Maintenance to ensure revenue is recognized accurately.
· Provide monthly revenue and deferred revenue data to assist with forecasting of quarterly revenue.
· Review new guidance from SEC and FASB.
· Create new policies and procedures to ensure revenue is being recognized accurately.
· Coordinate revenue and accounts receivable requirements for quarterly audits
· Reviewing and booking necessary revenue accruals
· Coordinating and providing a Worldwide revenue shipments to general ledger reconciliation report.
· Work with external auditors as part of quarterly and annual audits
· Reconciliation of revenue and deferred revenue to the general ledger.
· Participating in the monthly financial close and preparation of management reporting.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
• CPA preferred
• 8+ years work experience in public accounting and/or private industry in accounting
• Two+ years work experience in revenue operations or sales operations in a technology company.
• 4+ years software revenue recognition experience.
• Working knowledge of SOP 97-2 and EITF 00-21 and related interpretations.
• MS Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel.
