Job Title:   Assistant Controller

Job Description:

The Assistant Controller will plan, coordinate and supervise all day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department. The Assistant Corporate Controller will be responsible for overseeing several business units and the worldwide close. This also includes involvement in critical process improvement projects and analysis. This position will reports to the VP of Finance, Corporate Controller/CAO.

Assistant Controller Responsibilities

·     Develop, implement and administer detailed accounting procedures.
and systems in accordance with US GAAP

·     Review and implement financial systems controls that will complement the internal requirements of the rapidly growing business, and the information required to support its continued growth.

·     Coordinate and supervise worldwide accounting operations with the Corporate Controller.

·     Monitoring and analyzing monthly operating statements, with an emphasis on ensuring accuracy and timeliness of the information presented, and understanding its trends.

·     Work with other teams both within and outside finance to ensure that financial data processing and reporting is consistent and accurate.

·     Ensure accounting policies, procedures and controls are followed.

·     Significant interaction with accounts payable, payroll, expense reporting, billing, and management reporting

·     Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley in conjunction with the SOX Lead.

·     Coordinate quarterly reviews and year end audits.

·     Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies and proactively question processes and procedures and implement change to gain efficiencies and streamline workflows.

 

Essential Assistant Controller Skills & Characteristics

·     4-6 years’ of past or present public accounting experience with an internationally recognized firm

·     Bachelor's degree with Finance concentration and professional accounting qualification is essential

·     Must possess a CPA

·     Expertise in US GAAP including the ability to research issues, document conclusions and discuss with management and the company's independent auditors

·     Strong experience in reviewing account reconciliations and fluctuation analyses

·     Demonstrated ability to lead, manage a team and drive continuous process improvement

·     Strong leadership skills

·     Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, and others

·     Strong business judgment to assess complex situations with multiple issues
and drive appropriate actions

·     Oracle or similar ERP system experience is a plus

·     Strong financial acumen and related management skills

·     Provide leadership, career growth, and training for team members

·     Continuous process improvement, especially as relates to the effectiveness and efficiency of the close process
