| Job Description: The Corporate Accounting Supervisor reports directly to the Corporate Controller and supervises 2 members of the accounting staff. The Accounting Supervisor will not only possess strong accounting skills but also be detail oriented, organized, and hands-on in the running of the corporate fiscal operations. S/he will assist the Corporate Controller with strategic and tactical analysis. S/he will perform internal audits to ensure that proper policies are put in place. Leadership skills are essential along with self-motivation.
· Manage all general accounting activities, including but not limited to: time and expense, accounts payable, general ledger, and coordinating financial closings
· Managing all monthly closing functions in accordance with divisional and corporate timelines
· Prepare and review consolidated financial statements
· Overseeing monthly account reconciliation process
· Collaborating to enhance current financial reporting package, which would entail enhancing existing reports and initiating future designs
· Ensuring all financial activities are compliant with GAAP
· Controlling costs and operating expenses using appropriate financial metrics and taking action to optimize spending
· Miscellaneous projects as assigned
Required/Desired Qualification
The following items are essential for success in this role:
· BS/BA in Accounting, Finance
· 7-10 years of operational experience
· CPA is a plus
· Prior Supervisory experience preferred
· Detailed knowledge of revenue recognition issues in a professional services environment a plus
· A high-energy level and be prepared to work very hard in a rapidly changing environment
· Experience in a multi-national organization
· Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills as this position will interact regularly across functions with the executive management team
· Experience preparing GAAP financial statements and a thorough understanding of accounting principles, practices and internal controls.
· Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
· Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Excel and Word, and ability to export data from systems.
· Experience with mid-range financial systems
